The Potts Foundation was created in 2016 in remembrance of Johnny and Evelyn Potts. Although departing from this world at healthy ages, Johnny and Evelyn both made many significant impacts in the lives of their children, grandchildren, and throughout the local community.
Their love for people, acts of generosity, and kindness is what led to the creation of The Potts Foundation.
Although only two years old, the growth and development of the Foundation has allowed us to expand by offering a host of scholarships to cater to a variety of young adults seeking to attend college or currently attending college.
The organization was established to assist graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college and graduate students with college expenses such as books and tuition/fees in pursuit of a college degree.
The Foundation is dedicated to furthering the education of young adults who demonstrate the financial need and academic proficiency.
We also wish to pour into the scholarship recipients through encouragement, mentorship, and motivation.
In 2021, we will launch the beginning phrase of The Potts Foundation Mentoring Program for past and present scholarship recipients.
With each scholarship awarded, the intent is to form budding relationships as the students matriculate through their college and post graduate years. It is important for each recipient to understand that although college can be a joyous time, there are also moments of difficulty.
Through those moments, we do not want our recipients to give up nor become defeated.
Yes, life will sometimes be hard, but as an organization will be there to cheer them on to becoming a college graduate and an accomplished professional within their respected field.
